At any rate, the last time I used my cd-burner it worked just fine, prior to Windows I have tried rebooting my computer. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling my cdrom and still every time I insert my disk into the burner I get an error message telling me that the directory name is invalid. This thread is locked. Thanks for your feedback. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling my cdrom. It is telling me now that there is no disc in the burner. It is not recognizing the writable DVD. When I went in to the settings to start in safe mode I saw I had the option to go back to windows 7 I took it! Think for now I will just stick with window's 7, I love it on my home laptop. Guess I am just not ready for it here at work!

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling my cdrom Try disabling and then enabling the device in the Device Manager but with a DVD in the drive.
